Crafty & Handmade
I've been making recycled tire planters since 2002. My hand-cut tire planters are made from old lawnmower & trailer tires. After experimenting with different blades over the years, I still cut each one with a steak knife. I line each planter with a custom-molded vinyl record bowl or other recycled dish for smaller planters. Tire planters can also be used for home storage (magazine, recycling, or garbage bins.)
After a few years in retail & wholesale work, & a great experience that expanded outside office work at a local letterpress print shop, I traded office experience to learn to screen print in 2005. I've been enjoying learning to transfer art onto fabric, paper & other materials ever since. I had a hard time finding items for gifts that suited my style, so I worked on my own designs. I started screen printing from home when I changed jobs, & I still enjoy making gifts for friends.
I've been coordinating seasonal Handmade Trunk Shows since 2006, which feature an amazing collection of local & regional crafters.
Thanks for supporting handmade items!
